RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.
The RSS contents are maintained by the sites who want to publish their contents automatically. For an example; a news site may publish it's news contents only with the summary and the publication date and time, and may update their RSS content whenever they have some fresh news. People who subscribes to the RSS feeds will automatically have these fresh contents each time the feed is updated from the original source; no need to update from the subscribers' ends. Many site developers want to publish their preferred RSS feeds onto their sites (it can be a new feed RSS, discussion board RSS, tutorial RSS or even multimedia RSS). It gives the site a fresh look, keep the visitors interested to stay longer on the site, motivates the search engines to refresh their indexes more frequently. But, how to embed an RSS feed onto a website, so that it looks like a part of the website? We have developed a free tool to accomplish this; please look at the example below, a news RSS subscription from BBC news site embedded onto our site (it does look like a part of www.beyondtheway.com, doesn't it?) |
